UWB Solutions Deliver the Highest Security and Lowest Power Consumption

When compared to other Radio Frequency (RF) technologies like UHF and Bluetooth®, UWB is the best RF technology to measure distances between two devices because this technology implements very short RF pulses with high bandwidth to accurately measure the Time of Flight (ToF) and distances. Other RF technologies use RF signals with small bandwidths that will suffer from signal fading, inaccuracy and low quality due to multipath effects.

We designed our industry-leading UWB devices that operate in the frequency range of 6.2–8.3 GHz for the lowest power consumption in battery-driven applications. The proven security layer will detect and prevent physical layer attacks like relay attacks, cicada attacks or early detect/late commit attacks. This enables secure and reliable distance bounding applications between two UWB devices for controlled operation in various industries and for home access appliances.

Depending on your application’s requirements, our ATA8350 transceiver offers hardware-controlled sequential distance measurements for localization. Additionally, our ATA8352 transceiver supports high-accuracy distance measurements with the Time of Arrival (ToA) time stamps required in RTLS Industry 4.0 systems. Our versatile evaluation kits, free software stacks and demonstration code make it easy to start developing your UWB solution.
