Set-Top Box/Over-the-Top Media Player

With a growing offering of broadcast and on-demand entertainment services, consumers are adopting key platforms, such as IPTV Set-Top Box (STB) and Over-the-Top (OTT) media players, to enjoy these services. Both these platforms require a network connection for accessing and delivering entertainment services. An OTT player is a compact platform that accesses Internet content using its network connection enabled by an Ethernet PHY device. An IPTV STB provides enhanced functionality and uses an Ethernet switch device to support multiple network connections for delivery of interactive and broadcast services. In both platforms, an Ethernet network connection is essential for delivery of high-quality and high-definition media content.
