Our FPGAs use licensed, patented Differential Power Analysis (DPA) countermeasures from Rambus. All cryptographic algorithms are NIST certified, ensuring correctness and interoperability. Our manufacturing process is cryptographically controlled and you can verify that the devices shipped to you have not been tampered with in transit. Manufactured securely, our FPGAs provide a secure programmable hardware platform for your design ideas.

Wafer Sort and Package Test

We employ a cryptographically secure supply chain during wafer sort and package test using state-of-the-art FIPS140-2 Level 3 Hardware Security Modules (HSMs). This process means that we only test and ship authentic wafers and packages to you.

We utilize FIPS140-2 Level 3 Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) during wafer sort and package test ensuring that we only test and ship authentic devices to you.

Package Test

During Package test a X.509 digital certificate is signed by the private key in the HSM allowing clients to check the signature using the Microchip public key. Additionally, the x.509 certificate is encoded with the PUF to prevent tampering.

Device Integrity Value

You can verify that the device shipped has not changed state during transport through the supply chain. Simply read out the device integrity value over the JTAG port as part of your manufacturing build process.

NIST CAVP Certifications

The PolarFire® family of FPGAs embeds hardened, side channel-resistant, NIST Cryptographic Algorithm Validation Program (CAVP) crypto accelerators to ensure interoperability and robust security capabilities. You can use the EXP-F200ASR for bitstream decryption and system service requests while the EXP-F5200B is well suited for the user application. Please see the product overviews for specific data security device offerings.

DPA Countermeasures

Designing secure systems requires cryptographic protocols that are compliant to relevant NIST standards, but equally important is resistance to side channel attacks. We licensed the DPA countermeasure patent portfolio from Rambus for inclusion into FPGA devices starting with the introduction of the SmartFusion®2 and IGLOO®2 families of FPGAs in 2013.
