Microchip is committed to being a responsible corporate citizen and acting ethically and transparently in accordance with local, national and international laws, regulations and industry standards. Our Supplier Code of Conduct expressly communicates our expectation of lawful and ethical behavior throughout our supply chain and incorporates the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) Code of Conduct standards for labor, health and safety, the environment and ethics.
Through our membership with the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI) and the Responsible Minerals Assurance Process (RMAP), we seek to identify Smelters or Refiners (SORs) that produce responsibly sourced materials. We are committed to manufacturing products that comply with related legal obligations and relevant international guidelines and standards. Recognizing that we have the responsibility to respect human rights and not contribute to conflict, we commit ourselves to taking actions to source responsibly throughout our operations worldwide.
Microchip understands potential risks and adverse impacts that may be associated with extracting, trading, handling and exporting conflict minerals from Conflict Affected and High-Risk Areas (CAHRAs). We perform a Reasonable Country of Origin Inquiry (RCOI) on our integrated circuit product supply chain twice a year. Our current interim CMRT is dated January 11, 2024. Our current RCOI campaign has started as of January 2024. We expect to publish the results of that RCOI in mid-2024.
Through our membership with the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI), we seek to identify smelters and refiners that produce responsibly sourced materials. We are committed to producing products that comply with related legal obligations and relevant international guidelines and standards. The RMI Extended Mineral Reporting Template (EMRT) focuses on cobalt and mica. Microchip published its first EMRT on May 15, 2023. There is no intentionally added mica or cobalt in our IC products.
Microchip is currently not participating in the RMI's Pilot Reporting Template (PRT) Program pertaining to copper, nickel or lithium use within our supply chain. The ESG Assurance Team is currently reviewing this program. No date has been set for publication.

We understand the importance of business continuity, and we are committed to maintaining systems that ensure continuity of supply and provide for mitigation of potential impact to our customers, partners and other stakeholders. Our Corporate Business Continuity (CBC) Steering Committee is responsible for managing our BCM program. We have created a guidance document that describes the expectations and standards to be used by all Microchip entities with respect to Business Continuity Planning (BCP).
Our BCP process focuses on documented plans and procedures which address our operational risks. We carefully manage our supply chain including internal and external foundries, probe, assembly and test locations. This enables us to understand potential supply chain risk and recovery timing.
Our subcontractors are Tier-1 and have mature BCP programs in place. Subcontractor programs are reviewed as part of a quarterly business review. We collaborate with our global teams and partners to obtain and evaluate real-time information.
Our BCP program is tested on a regular basis at the local level and periodically on a corporate level. This testing involves corporate-level tabletop exercises (pursuant to CBC Steering Committee guidance), local simulations and live-scenario testing including fire drills, shelter-in-place and other drills conducted in coordination with community stakeholders.
