The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is a worldwide federation responsible for preparing international standards. ISO 26262 is the international standard for functional safety of electrical and/or electronic systems in road vehicles. It is an adaptation of the IEC 61508 industrial safety standard that aims to mitigate risks associated with malfunctioning electrical/electronic systems in road vehicles to acceptable levels. ISO 26262 also focuses on managing and tracking safety requirements and ensuring standardized safety procedures in design, validation, testing and verification.
Our broad portfolio of ISO 26262 functional safety ready and functional safety compliant devices encompasses the latest hardware safety features and a comprehensive safety ecosystem to simplify the design and certification of automotive safety-critical applications. Some devices are qualified as functional safety compliant, which means they were designed by following the ISO 26262-compliant development process. We offer:
We implement a TÜV Rheinland-certified Functional Safety Management System that covers up to and including ISO 26262’s Automotive Safety Integrity Level ASIL D.
You can use our PIC16, PIC18 and AVR MCUs as UI controllers for buttons (mechanical/touch), keyless door handles/locks, sensors or actuator control, safety coprocessors and other applications. These low-power MCUs are affordable and easy to use.
Safety resources include:
These AEC-Q100 Grade 0- and 1-qualified real-time controllers with DSP engine enable general automotive, advanced sensing and control, digital power, motor control, security and capacitive touch applications while offering support for AUTOSAR®.
Safety resources include:
We offer AEC-Q100 Grade 1- and 2- qualified 32-bit MCUs with Arm® processor cores and MIPS® architecture. These MCUs enable capacitive touch, infotainment, Acoustic Vehicle Alert Systems (AVAS), Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS), motor control, body electronics and security designs (EVITA light and medium) while offering support for AUTOSAR, CAN and LIN stacks.
Safety resources include:
When you are designing functional safety applications, using development tools that are certified for functional safety can make it easier for you to qualify the tools used in your design. To help you with implementing system-level functional safety in your applications, we provide the documentation needed for functional safety qualification for the MPLAB® development ecosystem along with our TÜV SÜD-certified MPLAB XC compilers.
Organize, write, test and debug your embedded software applications in the MPLAB X IDE.
Build your embedded software with the TÜV SÜD-certified MPLAB XC Pro Functional Safety Compiler.
Collection of analysis tools integrated into the MPLAB X Integrated Development Environment (IDE)
