Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) are an essential part of many Human-Machine Interface (HMI) designs. Well-designed and easy-to-use GUIs that enable users to control their electronic devices and manage data communication can build brand confidence and equity. Because GUI requirements vary by application and budget, we offer fully integrated, external controller, and Low-Cost Controllerless (LCC) graphics solutions to provide flexible and reliable options for your next design.
Push the boundaries and deliver high-performance and advanced GUIs by choosing one of our microcontrollers (MCUs) or microprocessors (MPUs) with integrated graphics controllers. These devices provide dedicated logic for advanced display control and graphics processing to deliver simplicity, low overall cost and higher performance for applications that must impress the most demanding users.
An LCC graphics solution enables direct drive from a PIC32 or SAM MCU’s Parallel Master Port (PMP), External Bus Interface (EBI) or Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) port to the parallel interface on a controllerless graphics panel.
Our 16-bit and 32-bit MCUs can work with an external graphics controller to support larger screen sizes or more advanced graphical features when using MCUs without any integrated graphics capabilities. The free-to-use MPLAB® Harmony v3 embedded software development framework provides optimized peripheral libraries, drivers, graphics libraries and application examples for 32-bit PIC® (MIPS®-based) and SAM (Arm® Cortex®-based) MCUs to support external graphics controllers.

The Integrated Graphics and Touch (IGaT) Development Kit is a unique, low-cost user interface reference solution that uses a single Arm® Cortex®-M4-based SAM E51 MCU to implement both the graphics and the touchscreen.
This video introduces the PIC32MZ DA Curiosity Development Kit and explains how to create a simple application on the PIC32MZ DA MIPS® core-based 32-bit microcontroller. It is supported by our free-to-use MPLAB® Harmony v3 embedded software development framework that runs in the MPLAB X Integrated Development Environment (IDE).
This is a graphics demo using our 16-bit PIC MCU and our free licensed library on a 3.2 TFT LCD panel. Our graphics building block is well suited for cost-effective human interface applications.
