 Automotive Touch Products and Solutions

As capacitive touchscreen displays and surfaces in the car become more prevalent, drivers expect them to offer the same touch experience as their mobile phones. However, displays in automobiles require thicker cover lenses to meet stringent head impact and vibration tests, which can affect the touch performance. If you are developing a capacitive touch system for your automotive design, we offer a comprehensive portfolio of touchscreen controllers to provide these advanced features while meeting the challenging design requirements of automotive applications.

Touch Button, Touchscreen and Touchpad Controllers for Challenging Environments

We offer ready-to-use capacitive touch solutions for creating buttons, sliders, wheels, Hands on Detection (HoD) and steering wheel touchpads or for implementing proximity detection to enhance the user experience in your automotive design. Our easy-to-configure turnkey touch controllers streamline the process of replacing mechanical buttons and can support up to 64 buttons. Or if an MCU is a better option for your design, our MCUs feature dedicated Core Independent Peripherals (CIPs) that offload the touch functionality from the Central Processing Unit (CPU) to free up system resources and reduce power consumption. Like our turnkey devices, these MCUs support both mutual and self-capacitance measurements.

maXTouch Touchscreen Controllers

Our maXTouch touchscreen controllers use unique and patented sensing algorithms for robust and reliable touch operation in the most challenging environments. With excellent immunity to water and electromagnetic noise and the ability to detect touch through thick gloves or front panels, these touchscreen controllers are well suited for touch Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) in automotive applications.

maXTouch touchscreen controllers are ready-to-go solutions that offer a common architecture, come with pre-programmed firmware and support screen sizes up to 45”. For automotive applications, we provide devices with smart diagnostic features that are supported by Failure Modes, Effects, and Diagnostic Analysis (FMEDA) reports and safety manuals targeting ISO 26262.

Reduce design risk and development time with the maXTouch Studio and Analyzer tools combined with our worldwide technical support team. Leverage our global touch module partner network to take your design concept to mass production.
